  Essential Functions (to include but not limited to)  

  • Develop manufacturing processes including machine/fixture design, developing processes flow, specifying and ordering equipment. 
  • Author work instructions for manufacturing processes (process specifications, travelers, setup sheets, and other forms of processes documentation). 
  • Provide training for production, engineering, and quality operations regarding manufacturing processes. 
  • Perform hazard risk assessments on explosives related manufacturing processes. 
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing processes to include root cause analysis and corrective actions. 
  • Create and/or update manufacturing drawings for products and equipment. 
  • Interface with production supervision and production operators regarding equipment operation, process problems, and process improvements. 
  • Interface with vendors and auditors, including on-sight visits, evaluation and down-selection of equipment purchases, and technical support.  
  • Participate in bidding/cost analysis of new business opportunities. 
  • Prove out production processes by performing the production operation. 
  • Design and develop new technologies and/or products, including developing technical documentation, fabricating prototypes, coordinating the efforts of technicians. 
  • Develop novel solutions through research, experimentation, and testing. 
  • Must be able to meet Capco attendance requirements. 
  • Ability to operate in a regulated environment as it pertains to contract requirements and corporate specifications. 
  • Keep management informed of project/program status.  

  Other Job Functions  

  • Assists Engineering Manager in improving a system of production control, standard operating procedures, safety and quality control.  
  • Carry out process improvement studies to reduce cost, increase through-put, improve safety, reduce labor, improve quality, or improve process control of complex manufacturing processes and document results.  
  • Performs manufacturing feasibility studies. 
  • Anticipate production/quality problems and implement preventative actions. 
  • Participate in bidding new business opportunities including technical writing and conceptual process design.  

  Basic Qualifications   

  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card Holder
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related scientific field. 
  • Two or more years’ experience in a manufacturing environment 
  • Must pass background check and appropriate drug testing. 
  • English proficiency. 
  • Capable of obtaining a State of Colorado Type III Explosives Permit.  

  Preferred Qualifications   

  • One or more years’ experience with high volume manufacturing 
  • One or more years’ experience with solid modeling package, CREO preferred 
  • Hands-on experience with manual and/or CNC machining Hands-on experience with fabrication including mechanical assembly, soldering, cutting
