Qualifications
Bachelor Degree required; Master Degree preferred.
Must hold a valid Michigan Teaching Certification with appropriate endorsement(s) for desired position.
5+ Years of experience in the classroom as the teacher of record.
At least two years of “Highly Effective” summative ratings in MOECS (or equivalent, if out-of-state) in the educator’s most recent two- year period.
Candidates must demonstrate the following:

Exceptional knowledge in research based instructional strategies and ability to implement them effectively. Knowledge in the use of technology to support instruction.
Ability to maintain high standards of professional conduct at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities
Assist students in meeting the essential knowledge and skills required in the Michigan State Standards
Fulfills all responsibilities of a teacher for your grade/subject.
Model and co-teach lessons, visit classrooms, view instruction, and engage in reflective discussion with classroom teachers.
Maintain fidelity with District approved curriculum resources, utilizing a wide range of evidence based instructional strategies.
Regularly share your instructional practice through peer observations and video recording of your teaching.
Provide non-evaluative collegial support and mentorship.
Support curriculum review and adoption process.
Engage in ongoing professional development, both within and outside of the organization, and share research-based practices to share with all staff.
Participate and/or lead in after-school and summer professional learning as needed.
Consistently support and uphold school policies and procedures. Model self-discipline and ethical behavior. Present self in a professional manner through appropriate dress, communication techniques and demeanor.
Lead and participate in on-going professional developments and grade level/content area meetings and training, including collaborative planning, looking at student work, and analyzing data.
Other duties may be assigned by building principal.
Utilize state and school assessments to tailor instruction, ensuring students' academic needs are met effectively and comprehensively.
Employs exemplary classroom management skills, in accordance with current school systems, to create a safe and engaging learning environment conducive to student success.
Maintains consistent and effective communication with both parents and students, fostering a collaborative partnership to support academic progress and overall well-being.

Salary:
$70,000 (with opportunities to make up to $75,000 based on performance incentives and professional development facilitation).
Renewal of the model teacher contract will be determined by a summative evaluation at the end of each school year.
