POSITION SUMMARY:  

Under general direction, defines, designs, and implements system communications and solution improvements. Proposes and implements system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of the system.  Manages the load configuration of systems (network, server, storage, etc.) and makes recommendations for purchase or upgrade of systems.  Coordinates system planning, upgrading, monitoring, testing and servicing.  Suggests action requests and specifies purchase requirement.  Negotiates and places orders with common carriers/vendors. Note: May be internal or external, client-focused, working in conjunction with Professional Services and outsourcing functions.  May include the support of organization-wide solutions.  Demonstrates technical competency, delivering highest levels of availability, performance, and security. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administration and management of the company's servers, storage and networks including hybrid Azure Active Directory environment, SAN management, and basic network equipment troubleshooting in a manner that ensures a high level of continuity and availability for the organization
    1. Cisco Route, Switch and Firewalls
    2. Hybrid Azure Active Directory environment,  
    3. AWS and Azure management
    4. SAN management, 
    5. Virtualization environment (VMWare)
    6. Cloud and hosted workloads 
    7. Routing protocols BGP, EIGRP 
    8. integrate automation processes
  • Management and troubleshooting of various systems ensuring the highest level of continuity and availability for the organization 
  • Participate in cloud infrastructure design and maintenance in support of organizational digital transformation efforts Collaborate with other professionals to ensure high quality deliverables within organization guidelines, policies, and procedures 
  • Assist in the coordination of various testing efforts and evaluation of solution designs 
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities in line with business requirements and governance standards 
  • Assist with Help Desk escalation 
  • Support, train, interface and participate with peers, users and vendors as needed 
  • Participate in DR plan testing and ongoing tuning 
  • Maintain and monitor networking assets and lifecycle 
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including network diagrams, security configuration, and SOPs.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Computer Science (or commensurate on-the-job experience) desired 
  • 8 to 10 years of experience implementing and managing industry standard configurations for Cisco networking devices, including switches, routers and next-generation firewalls
  • 5+ years of experience working as a Systems Engineer/Administrator 
  • 5+ years managing public cloud workloads and resources (AWS or Azure preferred) 
  • Strong command of current network/server operating systems and applications - specifically Windows Server 2012/2016/2019, Exchange Hybrid, Azure and M365 SaaS technologies and Intune/MECM
  • VDi Administration 
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, Shell etc.) 


The targeted annual salary range is $120,000.00 to $130,000.00. Final offer will be determined based on experience, education, training/certifications and specialized skills.
