Job Description


Summary:

We are looking for a highly experienced and driven Senior IT Network Engineer to oversee our Network Operations Center (NOC). This role requires an expert-level understanding of network infrastructure, exceptional problem-solving skills, and leadership abilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the NOC, ensuring network performance and reliability, and leading a team of NOC engineers to monitor and support the company's network infrastructure. This job will require 10-15% travel throughout the US.

Key Responsibilities:

  • NOC Management and Oversight:
    • Lead and manage the NOC team, ensuring 24/7 network monitoring, incident management, and troubleshooting.
    • Develop and implement NOC processes, procedures, and best practices to ensure optimal network performance and uptime.
    • Oversee the daily operations of the NOC, including shift management, incident escalation, and reporting.
  • Network Design and Implementation:
    • Design, deploy, and maintain complex network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
    • Implement and oversee network solutions that are secure, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.
    • Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of network services across the organization.
  • Incident and Problem Management:
    • Lead the response to major network incidents, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing business impact.
    • Analyze network performance data to identify trends, recurring issues, and areas for improvement.
    • Develop and implement strategies to prevent network incidents and enhance overall reliability.
  • Network Security and Compliance:
    • Oversee the implementation of network security measures to protect against unauthorized access, cyber threats, and vulnerabilities.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
    • Conduct regular security assessments and audits, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of network configurations, processes, incident reports, and service records.
    • Prepare and present regular reports on network performance, NOC activities, and incident management to senior management.
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Leadership and Mentorship:
    • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to NOC engineers and other IT staff.
    • Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and identify professional development opportunities for the NOC team.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the NOC.
  • Collaboration and Strategic Planning:
    • Work closely with IT and business leaders to develop and implement strategic network plans.
    • Collaborate with vendors and service providers to ensure high-quality network services and support.
    • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure the NOC and network infrastructure remain cutting-edge.




Job Requirements


Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
    • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience as a Network Engineer, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role, including experience overseeing a NOC.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expert knowledge of network infrastructure and NOC operations.
    • Extensive experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar advanced networking equipment.
    • Advanced proficiency in networking protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, MPLS) and network monitoring tools.
    • Strong understanding of network security practices, incident management, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Certifications (preferred but not required):
    • Advanced certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or similar.
    • Security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or equivalent.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
