Job Description

You will be a member of the Symbio Global Infrastructure team in Sydney, contributing to the delivery of systems, platforms, and infrastructure that support Symbio’s products globally.

As a Network Engineer in the Network Reliability Engineering team, you will work on hardware and software lifecycle projects, ensuring the security and quality of our infrastructure and the customer-facing products it supports.

Help us modernize our tech stack as we develop and roll out new features and capabilities, while enhancing efficiency, consistency, and quality through improvements in network observability and operational processes.

Once onboarded, this role will participate in the team’s after-hours support roster, which operates on a rotating schedule every 4 to 6 weeks.

Qualifications

  • 2 - 3 years’ experience in a network engineering role in a Telco/ISP/Enterprise
  • Understanding of network architecture and internet protocols
  • Understanding of OSPF/ISIS & BGP protocols
  • Experience in testing network protocols & using test tools in lab environment
  • Hands-on experience with on-site work for hardware & cabling deployment 
  • Perform network device firmware upgrades conducting thorough risk analysis and ensuring adherence to maintenance window requirements
  • Experience with MPLS including MP-BGP and L2VPN solutions
  • Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet and/or Arista configuration
  • CISCO/Juniper Certified qualifications is a must have (either or)
  • Exposure to CI/CD tools, pipelines and version control such as Gitlab
  • Working knowledge of Linux Systems
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • A curious, motivated, self-learner, but also a great team player
