Position Summary

The Paralegal Advisor will report to the Vice President, Finance. This role will support our various lines of business by reviewing customer contracts, supporting both legal and compliance matters, coordinating with external counsel on more complex issues, and assisting in the research, drafting, and maintenance of vendor contracts.

The Key objectives of the role:

  • Assist with reducing the risks of litigation and ensure that the documents and policies adhere to all relevant legislation
  • Ensure delivery of legal services and resources to accomplish corporate goals, strategies and priorities

What You’ll Do

  • Assist with reducing the risks of litigation and ensure that the documents and policies adhere to all relevant legislation
  • Ensure delivery of legal services and resources to accomplish corporate goals, strategies and priorities
  • Performs research on applicable regulations, laws/legal requirements and best practices
  • Collects and organizes material, contracts, and other important documents
  • for managers to review; Provides legal perspective and guidance to a variety of managers within the organization
  • Keeps files organized and up-to-date in paper and/or electronic format
  • Researches, drafts and/or reviews formal documents such as contracts and correspondence with customers, vendors, and other parties
  • Plays a supporting role in legal or compliance matters
  • Coordinates, along with senior leaders, with external counsel on more complex issues
  • Prepare responses and organizes contract details
  • Arranges meetings with internal and external stakeholders
  • Attends to basic clerical tasks, such as photocopying, making and receiving phone calls, and fielding correspondence

What You Bring

  • Certificate or Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution is
  • required
  • 3-5 years' experience in an office environment is preferred
  • Very detail-oriented with an ability to multi-task
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills - verbal and written
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office - specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently and not need constant supervision
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to adhere to strict daily deadlines and re-prioritize throughout the day

How We Work

This role requires two in-office days per week, with three days in-office during the three-month orientation period. Fully remote work is not available for this position.
