The Opportunity:

As a Paralegal at Port of Newcastle you will assist in the day-to-day activities of the Legal function. You will play a key role in supporting the Senior Manager – Property Environment & Planning in the preparation and administration of legal documentation, including licenses, leases and other agreements. In this role you will use your strong attention to detail and communication skills to manage various agreements and contracts, ensuring compliance. 

What you will bring:

To succeed in this role, will you have experience in the interpretation, drafting and preparation of legal documentation, and have strong report writing and data analysis skills. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential in this role, along with the ability to interpret legislation, case law and government policies. 

In addition to these requirements, it will be advantageous to:

  • Be currently undertaking relevant tertiary qualifications in law or experience in a similar role, particularly experience in property or contracts law; and
  • Have experience working with TechnologyOne information system or similar.
