The Commission directs the growth, operation and business activities of RIC and works tirelessly to ensure it continues to be an affordable option for local, regional, and out-of-state travelers.

Description of Responsibilities: To perform general and specialized functions in preparing for and responding to emergency calls and in providing general support within the Police Department. Duties and responsibilities include maintaining readiness for emergency calls and taking proper action. 

Required Experience:

  • Must have 2 years law enforcement experience or professional security experience OR at least 60 college credits in a related field OR 2 years active-duty military experience OR an       equivalent combination of education, training and experience. 
  • DCJS Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) Certification.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.  

Required Skills:

  • Possess a working knowledge of law enforcement techniques, to perform criminal and traffic investigation.
  • Ability to quickly analyze situations to determine the best course of action.
  • Ability to use firearms safely and skillfully.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to perform assigned work with a positive attitude, while exhibiting a professional manner.
