The Role
We are seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator to support a complex full-stack application. In this role, you'll be responsible for designing and managing PostgreSQL databases, troubleshooting production incidents, and collaborating with developers to create innovative solutions.

What You’ll do
- Design, manage, and optimise PostgreSQL databases, including application and Business Intelligence databases, with a focus on performance tuning and query optimisation.
- Write and maintain functions, triggers, and business logic within PostgreSQL.
- Use nodejs or similar backend technologies to build workflows, APIs, and automation processes integrating diverse data sources.
- Oversee source code management, versioning, CICD pipelines, and code reviews for database changes.
- Work with UI developers to build solutions, ensuring seamless integration across the UI, APIs, business logic, and database layers.
- Troubleshoot production incidents, identify root causes, and implement fixes, collaborating with other team members when required.
Key Skills & Expertise
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- Proven experience in PostgreSQL database design, management, and optimisation.
- Expertise in writing PostgreSQL functions, triggers, and business logic.
- Hands-on experience with nodejs or similar backend technologies.
- Ability to manage database deployments, including source control, CICD, and code reviews.
- Experience with full-stack applications, understanding the interplay between UI, APIs, business logic, and databases.
- Proven troubleshooting skills, with the ability to mentor and assist other developers.
