SUMMARY/ OBJECTIVE


This Quality Control supervisor contributes to the success of Liscio’s Italian Bakery, Inc. by ensuring the overall quality of ingredients and finished products in accordance with company's standards. Responsibilities include cost efficiency, continuous improvement on processes, service, and safety for an entire business unit on shift. This individual must set quality assurance standards and align the organization to achieve these standards.


RESPONSABILITIES



  • Monitors document control and employee/facility adherence to the SQF code as well as Liscio's policies and procedures

  • Asissts with managing team execution of key food safety pre-requisite programs such as: GMP compliance, sanitation, documentation and recordkeeping, regulatory audits, etc.

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of process improvements and technical developments

  • Builds people capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training, and communication for both management and front-line hourly personnel

  • Develops the team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals

  • Delivers effective change leadership while driving business changes and minimizing people impact

  • Communicates and collaborate cross-functionally to assist team to solve operational issues

  • Motivates team members to achieve plan goals

  • Ensures compliance with all health & safety regulations including food safety

  • Assists with regulatory audits/inspections

  • Administer policies and procedures

  • Regular and predictable attendance at the work site

  • This role requires regular presence on the plant floor

  • This role requires lifting up to 40 lbs. occasionally

  • This role requires occasional work in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow.

  • This role may operate manufacturing equipment occasionally

  • This role may require off-shift and weekend work

  • This role may require some travel to our other locations (less than 5%)

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

  • A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience preferred

  • Language Skills: Conversational proficiency in Spanish is required.

  • Prerequisites and certifications preferred: SQF practitioner, HACCP, PCQI, GMP, CFR and FSMA knowledge

  • Previous experience within the quality control department of a high-speed food manufacturing environment, preferably consumer packaged goods preferred.

  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks efficiently and effectively

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications

  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback

  • Ability to lead a team-based approach to decision making

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented, challenging environment

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to get results through mentoring skills

  • Effective coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team building skills
