We are seeking MS/PhD students in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering programs to work with us as research aides and help us in our mission in continued development of Aeronomie. Topics could include modeling propulsion systems including turbo-prop, turbo-fans, and jet engines; robust controls development for fixed-wing aircraft; development of flight controls for e-VTOL aircraft; trajectory optimization; low-carbon pathways for commercial aviation; development of our simulation tool, Aeronomie.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled full-time at an accredited institution and have completed at least one semester of schooling by the start of the program.
  • Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins.
  • Must possess a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Desired Skills:

  • If accepting an offer, must pass a screening drug test.
  • Experience with modeling and simulation, especially Simulink
  • Programming in Matlab or Python
  • Modeling of turbo-prop, turbo-fan, and turbojet engines.
  • Aircraft design, flight dynamics, and controls
  • Trajectory optimization
  • eVTOL flight dynamics and controls
  • Data processing and analysis
  • Controls engineering: Classical and modern control, NLDI, MPC, etc.
