Department Summary


The Institute for Translational Research is devoted to bringing novel diagnostics and interventions to patients and families suffering from neurodegenerative diseases, fostering translational research in neurodegenerative diseases at UNTHSC, and Create solutions for a healthier community. Our team spans basic "bench-top" science, clinical research, community-based research and clinical trials. Our translational approach is intended to foster discovery and expedite those discoveries toward the benefit of those suffering from brain disease. A particular emphasis of ITR is the development of personalized (or person-focused) medicine for Alzheimer's disease.



Position Overview


The position will participate in the administration and monitoring of clinical research studies and/or clinical trials. They will be responsible for analyzing and evaluating clinical data gathered during research. They will also ensure compliance with protocol and overall clinical objectives



Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree and one year experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Knowledge of scientific research techniques, methods and procedures.

  • Ability to work effectively with fellow researchers, staff members, faculty, supervisors and students.

  • Academic writing skills.

  • Communication skills

Job Duties:



  • Conduct face-to-face and/or telephone interviews with subjects, in accordance with predetermined interview protocol, data collection procedures and documentation standards

  • Conduct neuropsychological testing

  • Participate in community recruitment of research participants and screening into studies

  • Scoring of interview and testing data 

  • QC of files and data collected 

  • Maintain accurate records of interviews, safeguarding the confidentiality of subjects, as necessary
