RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position summary
We are seeking for a highly motivated Research Assistant to join Dr. Zogopoulos’ translational research laboratory. Under the supervision of Dr. Zogopoulos, a clinician-scientist of the Cancer Research Program, the selected research assistant will be involved in various projects. The laboratory interests include the genetics and oncogenomics of pancreaticobiliary cancers.
A contribution to patient-oriented research biobanking activities is expected. A second full-time laboratory research assistant also supports these activities, while clinical research coordinators enable these projects with patient enrolment and clinical data collection.


General Duties
Lead the processing of tumour biospecimens for molecular profiling of pancreaticobiliary tract cancers, including tissue sectioning, tumour cell enrichment using laser-capture microdissection, and DNA/RNA isolation.

Support students with their research projects, including integration of new students into the lab and teaching of techniques.

Education / Experience


• MSc in translational cancer research.
• Experience in cancer genetics and oncogenomics.
• Technical experience in histology, molecular biology and tissue culture.
• Excellent organizational skills;
• Meticulous and precise.




Additional information


Status: Temporary, full time
Pay Scale: $48,503.00 - $90,090.00. Will be commensurate with credentials and experience.
Work Shift: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Work Site: Glen (1001 Decarie Blvd, Montreal)
