Security Job Duties and Qualifications:


Present a neat and well-groomed appearance.

Possess excellent customer service skills (e.g. courtesy, patience, understanding, etc.).

Capable of walking a minimum of 3.5 to 4 miles per day; 

Able to walk up a minimum of six flights of stairs successively without stopping to rest. 

Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time when required.

Able to use a keyboard to correctly input information accurately and efficiently into software programs.

Able to navigate various software applications and the internet/intranet.

Able to write and send emails. 

Possess a reasonable general working knowledge of computers.

Possess excellent written and oral communication skills, including the proper use of grammar, punctuation and spelling.  

Be willing to work overtime when asked or directed.

Patrol the interior/exterior of the property on foot.

Monitor and be able to respond to emergencies to include medical, fire and weather-related situations.

Render First aid and/or C.P.R. assistance to the extent of the officer’s training.

Be able to remain awake, alert and attentive while on duty.

Possess the ability to handle multiple tasks/priorities alone and often simultaneously.

Be able to follow verbal and written directions from client personnel and OSS Supervisory/Management personnel, 

Operate a vehicle as necessary for patrol.

Monitor closed circuit television. Looking for suspicious and/or theft activity.

Control/limit access to the facility at entry points.

Instruct visitors to sign in and issue them an identification badge, as appropriate.

Answer, screen and route phone calls to the appropriate parties.

Issue and account for keys assigned to the security department, if required.

Be courteous, polite and professional in dealing with our customers, and their employees, visitors and vendors.

Have the ability to walk, sit or stand for up to 8 hours at a time.

Be able to perform other security related duties as assigned
