Senior Accountant

How you will make a difference
The XTIVIA Senior Accountant role is an intermediate accounting level position for a degreed accountant to grow in their career while working to support finance functions. This position reports directly to the XTIVIA Controller. The individual will be responsible for full financial reporting to assigned business units as well as a focus on compliance, compensation and planning. Candidates will have the flexibility to work from home but are required to live within commuting distance to our Edison, NJ location.
Responsibilities
- Review contract terms from new business and apply GAAP accounting standards to ensure proper revenue recognition
- Approval of transactions proposed by other team members
- Record and document expense accruals, emphasis on compensation and tax
- Key member of the monthly close process
- Maintain detailed accounting schedules and reconciliations
- Preparation and review of financial statements from various business units
- Support data requests from auditors, tax accountants, others as requested
- Manage income and sales tax operations
- Address compliance matters such as tax notices, timely filings
- Drive delivery of compensation management (variable compensation plans)
- Key member of the internal control environment and supporting our systems
- Continually execute on projects to drive process improvement and efficiency
- Track schedules on key metrics such as time, sales bookings
- Support CFO in maintaining forecast model
- Presentation of financial information to business leaders
- Assist with other ad hoc projects as needed
- Communicate information with our parent company where needed
- Aid in setting and the delivery of quarterly goals
What you bring to your new team
- Advanced Excel Skills
- Experience working in a robust accounting system (e.g. Netsuite, Sage Intacct)
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to handle a large volume of activity/transactions
- Strong attention to detail, must maintain sense of due dates on deliverables
