Job Description






Our MEPS Infrastructure team is growing and seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for our Richmond, VA office to specialize in W/WW projects. The successful candidate should have experience specifying, designing, and implementing electrical power systems. Experience in WW/W is preferred however industrial, chemical, and mining experience is acceptable. This position offers opportunities for growth into project management for complex water/wastewaster projects.

 

Dewberry has one of the strongest electrical teams in the Raleigh area with over 30 electrical design professionals. You will be joining a team of highly skilled, experience, and dedicated electrical professionals focused on designing reliable and resilient electrical infrastructure for water and wastewater facilities in North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Colorado, and Florida. At Dewberry you will expand your technical knowledge in electrical distribution, motor controls, SCADA, and power system studies as you execute a full range of services to shape water infrastructure that services your communities. In addition to traditional W/WW designs you will also assist in developing the way renewables energy is utilized by our clients in meeting their decarbonization and electrification goals.

Responsibilities






  • Provide electrical power system engineering and design for W/WW projects.
  • Lead multiple design projects and manage junior engineers to execute projects.
  • Design opportunities included low voltage electrical power distribution, motor control, VFDs, lighting systems, equipment layout and related activities.
  • Provide electrical specifications, drawings, and cost estimates.
  • Review and approve contractor submittals.
  • Execute redline markups from engineers.
  • Sizing conduit and wire, laying out electrical distribution equipment, and designing lighting systems.
  • Coordinate with engineering staff to successfully execute electrical designs.








Required Skills & Required Experience






  • BS in electrical engineering or related degree.
  • 10+ years of design or WW/W operation experience on industrial projects.
  • PE preferred. 
  • Must have experience designing electrical systems and producing design documents in AutoCAD. Revit experience preferred.
  • Must be a self-starter with initiative, drive and determination.
  • Candidate must have a good working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Life Safety Codes, and other related Codes.
  • Good verbal, written and interpersonal skills are essential for coordination with other disciplines, and client interface.
