We are seeking a Senior Linux Systems Administrator to deliver expert-level support for essential systems, services, and devices in both classified and unclassified environments. This position requires close collaboration with infrastructure teams to ensure the availability, reliability, and security of systems in a high-performance computing (HPC) setting.
The Role
As a Senior Linux Administrator, you will:
• Provide full lifecycle support for the entire Linux infrastructure across classified and unclassified spaces.
• Assist with the implementation and support of security policies to ensure compliance with DoD standards.
• Perform troubleshooting and resolution of complex hardware and software issues.
• Administer and support email servers in classified and unclassified environments.
• Handle user management tasks, including account creation, permissions, and security protocols and tools such as Kerberos.
• Collaborate with the networking team to ensure seamless integration and performance.
Who You Are
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and qualifications:
• Technical Expertise: You have in-depth experience with Linux server administration, particularly in high-security environments, and are comfortable working with both classified and unclassified systems.
• Collaboration: You work well in a team and can communicate effectively with network engineers, security specialists, and other infrastructure teams.
• Problem-Solving: You are skilled in identifying issues, troubleshooting, and implementing effective solutions in a timely manner.
• Automation Skills: Experience with scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Perl and tools such as Puppet or Ansible to automate system administration tasks.
• Security Awareness: Strong understanding of security practices, particularly in a DoD environment. Familiarity with STIGs.
• Adaptability: You are comfortable working in a dynamic environment with rapidly changing priorities.
• Documentation: Excellent ability to document processes, procedures, and system configurations.
