We are currently seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our IT Department in Atlanta. The department offers the opportunity to join an innovative and collaborative team focused on establishing a networking environment by designing system configurations; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards. The Senior Network Engineer will work closely with the Engineering team and will report to the Network Engineering Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maximize network performance by monitoring and troubleshooting issues, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with team members on optimization. This entails utilizing tools such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, LinkRunner, Ekahau, and other network monitoring and diagnostic software.
- Ensure the security of the network system by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access controls. Report on network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information and managing relevant projects. Participate in the on-call rotation.
- Develop network design and implementation plans for office relocations and new office setups using CISCO and Meraki hardware. This includes creating bills of materials. Design and document LANs, WANs, and other network topologies that meet organizational requirements. Create IDF/MDF plans and associated rack elevations, as well as cooling and power requirements. Facilitate and supervise circuit installations.
- Configure and manage routers and switches to ensure optimal network performance. Schedule and implement OS upgrades and security patches for CISCO switches and routers. Implement routing and switching protocols, such as BGP and OSPF. Demonstrate familiarity with Azure cloud computing platform networking topologies and CISCO router configurations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years of experience as a network engineer in a branch office setting, with skills in Network products, virtual switches, cloud management, L4 services integration, networking topologies for both Layer 2 and 3, and strong routing and switching skills. Cisco certifications and Meraki wireless experience are advantageous.
- Successful candidates should be self-motivated, team-oriented, and possess strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Must show problem-solving abilities, provide innovative solutions, and communicate well at all personnel levels.
