Job Description: 


Climate United Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (“Climate United”), is seeking a full-time Senior Paralegal to provide comprehensive support to our board, senior management, and legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of legal processes, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. This role involves significant responsibilities in board and senior management support, operations, compliance, transactions, and administrative support. 


1. Board and Senior Management Support:



  • Prepare and distribute board meeting agendas, minutes, and related documentation.

  • Assist in organizing and coordinating board and committee meetings.

  • Maintain records of board resolutions and ensure compliance with governance requirements.


2. Operations:



  • Assist in developing and implementing operational policies and procedures.

  • Maintain and update organizational records, ensuring accurate and accessible documentation.

  • Assist with hiring and onboarding of new employees, including conducting background checks.


3. Compliance:



  • Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory filings and reports.

  • Assist with the implementation and management of an internal compliance tracking system.

  • Prepare and coordinate various annual and quarterly filings to the US EPA.


4. Transactions:



  • Assist with drafting ancillary legal documents, such as NDAs and vendor agreements.

  • Assist with financing closings, including circulating signature pages, compiling signed documents, and saving closing sets.

  • Assist with the management of legal counsel, including procurement management and invoice organization.


5. Administrative Support:



  • Provide general administrative support to the legal team, including filing, document management, and correspondence.


 




Required Qualifications: 





  • Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or related field.




  • Paralegal certification preferred.




  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role.




  • Proven self-starter with a strong ability to take initiative and drive projects independently




  • Strong knowledge of legal processes and documentation.




  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.




  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases.




  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.




  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
