We are currently looking for a Senior Paralegal to join our team in Franklin, TN!

Job Summary

Under appropriate supervision of counsel, manages high volume docket of breach of warranty, lemon law, and related consumer litigation. Reviews pleadings and discovery and provides assistance and direction to outside counsel.  Manages case files from opening to closure.   Works collaboratively with consumer affairs and regional employees to manage litigation.

A Day in the Life:

  • Manage a busy docket of breach of warranty cases, including, discovery review, document organization, witness scheduling, and settlement processing

  • Open, maintain and close case files using Nissan’s case management systems (Passport)

  • Communicate and liaison daily with outside counsel to optimize case management procedures

  • Assist in preparing discovery responses, affidavits, and related documents

  • Proactively identify, gather, and preserve documents and information critical to each case

  • Provide strategic support to internal consumer litigation team, advocate for case resolution options, represent the company at settlement conferences, and collaborate with consumer affairs on case closure

  • Ensure compliance with annual records retention policies

Who We’re Looking for:

  • Experience with cross-functional and cross-affiliate activities and projects

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.  Willingness to utilize computer and software programs as needed to conduct day to day activities

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the civil litigation process

  • Strong management and interpersonal skills

  • Proven ability to organize and handle high volume of cases and related pleadings, motions and discovery

  • Experience providing on-the-job to new employees

  • Deadline oriented with good time management skills

  • Able to manage and thrive in fast paced, high volume work environment

  • Self-starter and team collaborator

Years of Experience:

  • Five or more years of professional paralegal experience.  Supervisory experience preferred

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.  Professional Certification as a paralegal from an ABA program.
