Software Developer

About the role:
DUAL North America, Inc. is seeking a Software Developer to join the team. Β The Software Developer position will require hands on code development, documentation of solution design, unit testing, and support and troubleshooting of defects and issues. This position requires strong technical and analytical skills to review business processes and data, conduct functional and code analysis, and perform testing of code changes. This position will also involve production support, client support, and DevOps knowledge.

Location: Hybrid in Dallas, TX

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and support application software using the Java development language
  • Work in a software development life cycle environment
    • Work with business analysts and stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements into functional code and deliverable solutions
    • Work with end users and the software testing team to perform unit, functional, and integration testing and validation prior to production implementation
    • Troubleshoot and resolve operational problems in a timely manner
  • Work in both Kanban and Scrum Agile environments
  • Continually improve processes and solutions, seeking ways to use new tools, features, and capabilities

Job Requirements (education, experience, skills):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in computer science, software development, or related field
  • Hands on expertise as a Java Developer
  • Proficiency with companion Java tools and technologies such as JavaScript, Angular, React, HTML, XML
  • Knowledge of relational and transactional databases and ability to write and analyze basic SQL queries
  • Sound technical and analytical skills
  • Detail oriented with the objective of delivering a solution to a problem in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ability to work in a team environment and with business team members
  • Self-driven, willing to take initiative when an opportunity presents itself
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient with the standard software utilized in a business environment (MS Word, Excel, Visio, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a hybrid in-office and remote work environment
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
