Software Developer IV (Big Data Platform)

TeleWorld Solutions is seeking a Software Developer IV (Big Data Platform) for our team! We are seeking a skilled Software Developer IV with expertise in software development and data handling within a big data platform. This position is fully remote but requires working in the Eastern Time Zone. The ideal candidate will be responsible for enhancing and supporting a data processing pipeline that collects, processes, and stores vast amounts of real-time data, which is used by multiple teams for in-depth data analysis. This role is focused on development, testing, and production support within an active environment.

• Build, test, and enhance software applications within a big data ecosystem using Python, Java, SQL, and AWS tools.
• Develop and support data flows, processing data in real-time from devices through the pipeline to a data warehouse with a robust SQL engine.
• Ensure reliable and efficient production support, troubleshooting issues as they arise to maintain seamless data flow and availability.
• Participate in daily meetings with Business Analyst teams to understand their data needs and resolve any issues.
• Participate in morning huddles and collaborate with cross-functional teams, contributing to software development, data analysis, and technical improvements.

• • Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python (version 11) and Java (recent versions).
  • Database & SQL: Strong SQL skills for querying and analyzing data.
  • Operating Systems: Comfortable working in a Linux environment.
  • Cloud Services: Hands-on experience with AWS services including S3, EC2, Kubernetes, Flink, and Lambda.
  • Big Data & ETL: Experience with data pipelines and ETL processes (Big Data experience is a plus but not required).

• Daily Routine:

  • Morning Huddle: Attend daily morning team meetings to review goals and tasks.
  • Collaboration with Business Analysts: Daily discussions with Business Analyst teams to understand requirements and issues.
  • Development & Technical Work: Spend the majority of the day developing, testing, and supporting the data processing pipeline.

  Preferred Experience Level:

  • Experience Range: Ideal candidates have experience between a Level II and Level IV software development role.
  • Entry-Level Candidates: Talented fresh graduates with relevant skills will also be considered.
  • Experience Background: Candidates with ETL experience are preferred, though Big Data experience is a plus. Data Engineers with a solid software development background may be a good fit.

  Additional Information:

  • Duration: This project is in production, with a focus on enhancements and support. The role is likely to be extended into 2025.
  • Focus: This is not an operations-only role; we need a skilled Software Developer with hands-on development and support experience.
