Overview






Kimley-Horn is seeking an experienced Civil Designer with at least 8+ years of land development experience and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D to join our team in Riverside, CA. As a Civil Designer, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of various land development projects.

  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D software to prepare detailed civil engineering plans and designs for land development projects, including site layout, grading, drainage, and utility design.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure that design objectives and client requirements are met.
  • Conduct site visits and surveys to gather necessary data and information for the design process.
  • Prepare and review technical drawings, including site plans, profiles, cross-sections, and construction details, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Perform calculations and analysis to support the design process, such as earthwork volumes, stormwater management, and utility sizing.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical reports, cost estimates, and permit applications.
  • Stay updated with industry standards and best practices in civil design, and recommend innovative solutions and improvements.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior designers, sharing your expertise and assisting in their professional development.








Qualifications






  • Possess a minimum of 8+ years of experience in civil design for land development projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D software is required.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices, including site layout, grading, drainage, and utility design.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to land development and infrastructure design.
  • Ability to interpret and apply design standards, specifications, and codes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate and error-free drawings and designs.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and coordinate with project team members, clients, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of other design software and tools, such as MicroStation, is a plus.

Salary Range: 

$95,000 - $130,000
