Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience: 3+ years of accounting experience (Transportation experience highly preferred)
- Competent in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
- Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
- Must be flexible, self-starter, change-oriented, self-motivated team player.
- Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- NetSuite
- ASC 842 experience highly desired.
Job Summary: The Staff Accountant will be responsible for reconciling general ledger account balances and bank statements, assisting in the preparation of timely and accurate monthly financial reports, examining accounting documents for accuracy, and ensuring compliance with internal control policies and procedures and accounting standards.
- Assist with the completion of month, quarter, and year-end accounting close requirements including journal entries and general account analysis.
- Prepare, maintain, and standardize adequate support for journal entries and maintenance of month-end close checklist.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies.
- Assist with insurance, 401(K), annual and banking audits.
- Crosstrain on AP and AR critical functions to provide assistance and coverage when needed.
- Participate in compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial information.
- Work flexible hours and weekends to meet business/customer needs.
- Participate in special projects or assignments as required by management.
