Description

Vertiv’s Busbar Line of Business is currently looking to add a critical Supervisor Mechanical Engineering to our team. The incumbent will be hands-on, leading a talented group of Mechanical engineers to drive design consistency across the region while improving cost competitiveness, BOM health, ease of manufacturability and field serviceability of Busbar products. The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering a collaborative and innovative environment, driving engineering execution and ensuring we meet the highest standards of detailed design and bill of material.


We look for people who are team-oriented, self-driven, and technically proficient. This position requires strong collaboration across Vertiv Busduct facilities, and sales and operations teams and will work in close partnership with the broader Vertiv Lines of Business to leverage common standards and design tools.


RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Build and lead a high-performing team of mechanical engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance coaching. Detailed design and BOM accuracy will be crucial to the success.

  • Lead the development of globally standardized design frameworks that can be adapted to meet specific regional requirements.

  • Optimize design workflows through enhanced processes and tools while managing the recruiting, onboarding, and development of engineering personnel to improve individual capabilities, productivity, and performance. 

  • Lead the implementation of engineering change requests through collaborative, stakeholder-driven processes.

  • Spearheaded the resolution of complex issues by facilitating communication and problem-solving across customer support, engineering, and service operations.

  • Foster a shared design language for core product platforms while empowering teams to tailor features and functionality to unique regional needs.

  • Work closely with the Production and Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) team to ensure the successful Manufacturing of Product Design Transfers, and ETO-C projects.

  • Support the production and manufacturing teams for first-of-a-kind dry runs. 

  • Coordinate cross-plant problem-solving teams to improve engineering performance and meet business objectives.

  • Streamline and optimize the engineering team's workflow by aligning standard work documentation with global standards, auditing adherence to processes, and tracking progress towards key performance indicators (KPIs).


QUALIFICATIONS



  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role

  • Advantage: experience in power distribution and Busbar products. 

  • Managerial skills are necessary to plan, measure, and motivate people to continuously improve their output and personal growth.

  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to build diverse relationships internally and externally.
