Summary: 

 

Reporting to the Senior Director of Information Technology, you will be part of a team supporting the desktop/laptops, servers, applications, and network of the New Jersey State Library and the Talking Book and Braille Center. This involves analyzing requirements, creating reports and documentation, resolving problems, implementing hardware and software solutions, and responding to helpdesk requests.

 

Responsibilities:

 

-Administer Linux and Windows servers, inclusive of deployment, configuration, and updates

-Support the various applications in use

-Manage the Microsoft 365 tenant, including Teams and Teams telephony

-Work with Active Directory and group policy

-Assist with laptop imaging and deployment

-Monitor and manage Sophos antivirus platform

-Maintain thin clients and public PCs using Envisionware

-Manage MDM solution

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

-Desire to learn, collaborate, and grow your skills

-Ability to work independently on multiple issues at once and handle overlapping timelines

-Must possess good problem-solving skills

-Able to communicate effectively and professionally with staff

-Manage projects and document internal procedures using tools like JIRA and Confluence

 

Examples of Work include:

 

-Review and respond to alerts, e.g. Azure account at risk report or server resource usage notice

-Configure and upgrade server applications

-Document processes and develop or refine SOP for tasks

-Oversee asset management, e.g. device lifecycle or warranty renewals

-Respond to requests via our helpdesk ticketing system

-Handle restores using Veeam

-Collaborate with vendors and teammates on new hardware/software solutions and license renewals

 

Requirements:

 

Education: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree supplemented by a Master's degree in a field related to the position to be filled or equivalency as determined by the appointing authority.

 

Experience: Two years professional experience in a field that is directly related to the functions of the position to be filled or equivalency as determined by the appointing authority.

 

Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute required experience on a year-for-year basis (30 credit hours are considered one year of college).

 

Work Hours: 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm
