The Lead Teacher is responsible for the overall development and implementation of the education program in the classroom to keep the classroom compliant with state licensing requirements, Head Start Performance Standards and NAEYC. This person also serves as the Lead Teacher of the teaching team in Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms.
1. a. Teacher I: Master’s Degree plus IECE certification
b. Teacher II: Bachelor’s Degree plus IECE certification
c. Teacher III: Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to ECE plus 18 college credits in ECE
d. Teacher IV: AA in ECE
2. Experience in early childhood classroom management, planning curriculum and record keeping is required.
3. Experience working with children with disabilities is highly desired.
