Trademark and IP Paralegal

SWIM USA is a family owned and operated swimwear company established in 1936. We are a global industry leader in the design and manufacture of branded, licensed, and private label swimwear.

Job Summary:

To manage trademark portfolio deadlines and support in-house and outside legal needs. The position will report to Associate General Counsel.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prosecuting trademark applications under the direction of in-house counsel and outside international counsel
• Maintaining domestic and international trademark registrations using in-house trademark docketing system
• Working with in-house counsel and outside counsel on trademark proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and international trademark offices
• Researching potential trademark infringers and assisting with takedowns, cease-and-desist letters, settlements, and/or litigation
• Support in-house counsel with other legal tasks, such as design patent prosecutions, intellectual property litigation, and more

Qualifications/Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree preferred, however, will consider job experience.

Experience: 3+ years' experience with trademark docketing system

Skills:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Must be organized, detail oriented with excellent follow up skills
• Must possess strong computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Must be able to accurately work with numbers and deadlines
• Ability to work as a team member and follow direction
• Must have a keen sense of urgency and have an eagerness to learn new skills
• Ability to work under pressure in an environment of constant shifting priorities and changes

Working Conditions: Hybrid after initial training period

Physical Demands: Must be able to stand, sit, and walk 8 hours/day
