Yourconstruction are delighted to be recruiting for a Transport Compliance Officer for a large Construction business in Birmingham.


Fulltime 8.30-5pm (1 hour lunch)

Key Responsibilities:


· Driver Licence Checks – Ensure that external bureau licence checks are completed for all drivers and that frequency of checks is compliant with FORS requirements.


· Carry out investigations or incident reports in relation to any vehicle incidents.


· Driver Training Requirements – Work with the Operations Manager to ensure all driver training records are kept up to date, and advised when employees need to undertake training.


· Tachos – downloads, infringement reports & driver debriefs.


· Complete driver audits


· Supporting the Operations Manager in overseeing the Group purchases and services


· Assist with the implementation of Health and Safety policies and procedures.


· Assist with the implementation of transport policies and procedures.


· Provide a central support service to all branch locations for Transport & Health and Safety.


· Maintain compliance with operators’ licence, driver hours and driver standards.


· Use in house software for Health and Safety and Transport compliance.


· Ensure incoming calls/emails are dealt with promptly.


· Undertake any site maintenance where necessary.


· Any other duties as required by management.

Person Specification:


Essential:


· Knowledge of Driver Hours, Tachograph and their Legislation


· Strong negotiating skills


· Knowledge of Health & Safety


· Knowledge of transport systems


· Operational


· Ability to be proactive and to use initiative


· High quality verbal and written communication skills


· The ability to provide a high level of attention to detail and accuracy


· Excellent organisational skills and a strong ability to prioritise


· Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines


· A positive team player, with demonstrable ability to work collaboratively with colleagues


· Ability to complete general maintenance tasks


· IT Skills, MS Office and good working knowledge of Excel


· Knowledge and experience within the construction industry would be advantageous.


· Previous experience in a Health and Safety / Transport Operator role.


Desirable:


· Full UK Driving Licence


· Working towards CPC


· Current or previous HGV Class 1 desirable (not essential).
