Contributes to the university's mission through research and service.The Tran lab’s research broadly focuses on regulatory network and crosstalk among signaling molecules in plant responses to environmental stresses, as well as translational genomics for improvement of crop productivity to face the accelerating threat of global climate change. We seek a postdoctoral candidate with a strong grounding in molecular biology, genetic engineering, data analysis, and plant physiology. The research scientist will lead the projects associated with molecular cloning, chemical biology, translational genomics for improvement of environmental stress resistance using cotton, sorghum and soybean. The criteria for the selection of the candidate include a strong track record, good grant writing skill, a high motivation to design and work on the project, a proven expertise on molecular biology, transcriptomics, metabolomics, large-scale data analysis, and good communication skills. The successful incumbent is expected to supervise PhD students and provide training on proper research techniques and methods related to specific projects. The position is initially for one-year.Academic degree as defined by the academic unit and as appropriate for the position held. Demonstrated record of effectiveness as a researcher. Should have a record of activity which has contributed to the discipline or field of research.
