Position Summary

The Volunteer & Food Drive Coordinator assists with volunteer shifts, community food drives and is responsible for a positive and productive community engagement impact.

Essential Duties and Functions

  • Plan and assist with volunteer recruitment, research, retention, and management for all departments across the Food Bank. 
  • Maintain and utilize volunteer database for placement in different departments and events. 
  • Coordinate and oversee volunteer sessions to support operational needs while maintaining safety standards, record keeping, and protocols in volunteer areas.
  • Maintain and organize volunteer areas as per company standards. 
  • Advocate purpose and impact of volunteer activities.
  • Maintain the virtual food drive website and donor information as per requirements
  • Coordinate and monitor food drive events, collaborating internally and externally with volunteers, community partners and staff. 
  • Attend community outreach and engagement events.

Requirements

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written. 
  • Ability to work flexible schedule that includes evening and weekends.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products.
  • Community Involvement 

Education/Experience Preferred:

  • High School Education or GED 
  • Community Engagement experience preferred.
