Your Responsibilities
Reconcile Payroll Taxes: Ensure accurate payroll tax filings after each pay run and reconcile tax service provider reports with the payroll system.
Monitor Quarterly Filings: Oversee timely and accurate quarterly tax filings.
Reconcile Payroll to General Ledger: Match payroll records and taxes to the general ledger.
Reconcile Payroll Reports: Compare payroll reports to IRS Form 941 and W-2 forms for accuracy.
Generate Corrected W-2s (W-2Cs): Issue corrected W-2 forms when necessary.
Research and Reconcile Past Taxes: Investigate and resolve payroll tax discrepancies from prior periods.
SUI Rate Setup: Maintain accurate State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) rates and register new accounts as needed.
Coordinate with HR and Payroll: Ensure proper flow of employee data between payroll and human resources for tax setup.
Validate New Hires: Ensure new hires are mapped to the correct local taxing authority.
Resolve Tax Notices: Address and resolve payroll tax notices.
Assist Payroll: Provide support with other payroll tax-related tasks as needed.
Your Qualifications
Associate’s degree or higher in accounting or finance
2+ years experience with tax accounting (payroll tax experience preferred!)
Authorized to work in the United States
Able to pass an extensive screening process
