Principal Systems Analyst

The Role

You will serve as a Principal Systems Analyst who will play a key role on the WI Digital Platforms team, supporting our customers’ Digital experiences. You will work closely with squad leads, business analysts, architects and technology leads, in an agile team to ensure successful delivery of program objectives and alignment of the work you're doing to the product roadmap. You will also be expected to provide guidance and mentoring to the other Systems Analysts within the wider Digital Platforms Technology team. 

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • BS/BA Degree or equivalent experience preferred

  • 8+ years systems analysis experience; related work in software solutions definition/development is required

  • A sense of humor

  • Robust critical thinking skills coupled with a desire for growth, to learn and to engage with peers in technical and design discussions

  • Experience in communicating technical needs and capabilities to non-technical team members, product owners, and partners

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to tackle issues and work through ambiguous situations by making timely decisions based on facts, knowledge, experience and judgment

  • Passion to provide guidance on standard methodologies and mentoring support to the other Systems Analysts within the wider Digital Platforms Technology team

  • Experience collaborating in a team environment to support key applications and features

  • A demonstrable understanding of the Agile software development methodology

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, allowing you to interview Business partners to understand project objectives, use cases and requirements

  • Strong analytical skills, enabling you to research, document and review existing systems and recommend designs for achieving requirements for self-contained projects within a larger program

  • Proficiency in assisting in the writing of user requirements and all the supporting documentation

  • Ability to diagram business processes and system workflows

  • Expertise in conveying technical concepts with internal customers, technical team members, and/or other technical contributors across the organization

  • Willingness to actively participate in defining project scope/backlog, while recommending solutions to project issues

  • Desire to understand WS Digital Platforms’ web and mobile applications, while having the confidence to clearly communicate technical concepts to the internal partners inside and outside of the Scrum team

  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt and thrive to meet the needs of a fast-paced and evolving environment

  • Experience with triaging system defects in production and non-production environments
