Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and executing the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. This role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage deadlines effectively. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and providing insights into financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Month-End Close Process:
- Oversee and execute the month-end close process, ensuring all journal entries are prepared and posted accurately and on time.
- Review and analyze general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare monthly accruals, prepaids, and adjustments to align with GAAP.
- Account Reconciliations:
- Reconcile key balance sheet accounts (e.g., cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, prepaids, accrued expenses) and investigate variances.
- Ensure timely resolution of reconciling items to maintain accurate financial statements.
- Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Provide variance analysis and commentary on significant changes in financial performance.
- Audit Support:
- Prepare audit schedules and documentation for external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the month-end close process.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize and document accounting procedures.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and other regulatory standards in all financial activities.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, with a strong focus on month-end close and general ledger management.
- Experience in public accounting or within a corporate accounting department preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Communication:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effectively collaborating with internal teams and presenting financial insights.
- Education:
- Bachelorβs degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000, dependent on experience.
