Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Project Accountant to join our team in Buffalo Grove, IL. In this role, you will directly support the day-to-day accounting functions of operational and related entities, contributing to our mission of driving sustainable development in renewable and conventional power generation. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned accounting professional with strong expertise in G/L accounting and Oracle NetSuite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review project contracts, including credit and depositary agreements, to ensure compliance with covenants and reporting requirements.
  • Organize monthly management meetings and liaise with international equity partners.
  • Prepare and present budgets and ad hoc accounting reports for senior management.
  • Generate GAAP-compliant financial statements and maintain partners capital accounts as per operating agreements.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to prepare audited financial statements and tax returns.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoice payments.
  • Monitor bank accounts, perform treasury functions, and manage intercompany transfers and cash forecasts.
  • Consolidate cash forecasts and manage revolver lines of credit.
  • Support variance/trend analysis by comparing actual results to budgets and historical data.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance; CPA certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Oracle NetSuite and strong G/L accounting experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP; understanding of IFRS is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (financial modeling experience preferred).
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills with attention to timelines and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with hedge accounting and variance/trend analysis.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a team environment.
  • Dependable, responsible, and committed to a strong work ethic.

  • Background in energy, construction, or real estate industries.
