Staff Financial Accountant

Corky’s BBQ was established in 1984 and has since expanded to four Company restaurants, four franchise restaurants, a distribution company that supports QVC customers, and a manufacturing company that supports retail sales to major grocers. 

The Staff Financial Accountant will report to the Controller and work closely with the AP Manager and accounting team. A successful Staff Financial Accountant will demonstrate a strong work ethic, a commitment to excellence, and a focus on legendary customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Accounting Duties:

• Produce monthly financial statements and supporting exhibits.
• Perform balance sheet and income statement reconciliations.
• Account for prepaid expenses using roll forwards.
• Perform bank reconciliation weekly.
• File state and local sales tax returns.
• Calculate commissions for sales brokers.
• Actively work with accounting team to resolve account discrepancies.
• Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis at the direction of the Controller.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or business-related field.
• One to two years of experience in Staff accountant position preferred but not required.
• Thorough understanding of GAAP, accounting principles, policies, and controls.
• Ability to work under strict deadlines, both independently and in a team environment.
• Attention to detail and the ability to complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
• Strong verbal and written skills, and the ability to convey complex information.
• Effective prioritization and management of multiple projects.
• Working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel, and accounting software (Dynamics GP)
• Hospitality or restaurant experience (Preferred)
