SPA’s Sea Land Air (SLA) Division supports a diverse portfolio of national security government clients, including the Undersea Enterprise, the Navy Surface Community, the Navy MPTE Enterprise, the Air Force, Army, DoD Agencies, DARPA, international clients including the Canadian Navy and Australian Defence Force.  Our primary objective is to provide timely, objective and analytic assessments that integrate the policy, operational, technical, programmatic and acquisition aspects of our clients’ challenges.

 

Leveraging both in-domain and cross-domain expertise to maximize our clients’ success, SLA Division acts as trusted agents to senior decision-makers and key leaders and excels at providing data driven analytic insights, systems engineering, strategies and plans that address current and emerging challenges to national security.

 

SPA’s Operations Research and Cyber Analysis (ORCA) Group develops and employs simulation system products in support of operations, experimentation, and the acquisition analysis process. ORCA analysts apply Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) principles and tools to identify and analyze trends in big data to solve real-world problems. ORCA software engineers and cyber security professionals develop, build, and deploy custom hardware and software solutions to meet our client's toughest challenges.

 

SPA is hiring a Systems Administrator to provide architecture, design, implementation, monitoring, and management support of secure information systems to ensure maximum uptime, security compliance, and performance for users and mission. This position is aligned with the Operations Research and Cyber Analysis (ORCA) division and located in their San Diego office. The role will include designing secure system configurations, documenting, and managing the deployment and installation of hardware, software, and cybersecurity tool sets, and maintaining and upgrading existing systems with up to 20% travel to support events. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert, providing technical solutions to meet the requirements of the SPA ORCA division and clients.

Responsibilities






Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement new system and network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current information systems
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, troubleshoot and support information systems, routers, and switches, to include both physical and virtual
  • Configure routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
  • Maximizing performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Accurately document instances of equipment or component failure, repair, installation, and removal
  • Investigating faults in the systems and networks, perform analysis, diagnose, and resolution of complex problems, and recommend and implement corrective actions
  • Coordinate services, troubleshooting, and resolutions with 3rd party transport providers
  • Perform capacity analysis and planning to ensure growing user base and processing demand
  • Coordinate and execute scheduled upgrades
  • Reporting system status to key stakeholders
  • Accurately document and maintain ATO documentation including standard operating procedure development, artifact creation, submission of artifacts to ISSM and/or government representatives
  • Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for monitoring and responding to Cybersecurity continuous monitoring requirements (SIEM, Log review, validation of security controls, etc
  • Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring system operations
  • Interface with third-party support and equipment vendors as needed
  • Travel will be required to support client events, up to 20%

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  California Pay Transparency Range: $110,000-$150,000









Qualifications






Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in information technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 6-8 years directly related experience
  • Experience with system design, system security design and best practice, system building process development (Secure Host Baselines, Windows Server, Windows OS, Linux, etc.)
  • Experience in VMWare and virtualized architecture and environments
  • Experience with routing and switching in multi-vendor environment (Dell, Cisco, Juniper)
  • Problem solving and time management capabilities
  • Experience working independently and in team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • US Citizenship required, successful candidates will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
  • Must possess and maintain DoD 8570 / 8140 compliant certification
  • Security clearance (Top Secret//SCI Required)
