Sturgeon County is looking for a Systems Analyst, Information Services with proven experience in SQL Server Database Administration, Systems Maintenance (ERP system Microsoft Dynamics GP and CentralSquare Diamond ERP and other financial systems such as CentralSquare Pearl, PSD-Citywide Budgeting), Integration and Reporting (FME, SSIS and other ETL tools). The successful candidate will be integral member of the business transformation team and focused primarily in providing expert advice, support and maintenance, to the ERP systems.


This position is responsible for support, design, development, implementation, integrity, security, and administration of all corporate business solutions and databases. Specializing in coordinating the integration of corporate business systems, troubleshooting advanced database issues, and providing technical support to the Information Services department team.


KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Software Maintenance & Updates (35%)

  • Coordinates with application owners, manages application support plans and operates client access and permissions to various commercial and custom enterprise systems within the organization.
  • Responds to user requests including resolving issues related to applications such as the (ERP) to support operational delivery such as supporting year end activities. Maintains a knowledge base which includes how to configure, install, respond to application requests. Reports applications issues and bugs to the vendor and works with the vendor to implement suggestions and recommendations to solve complex application issues, including issues that needs to be referred to development.
  • Evaluates and develops system workflows, and processes to design solutions to automate manual tasks.
  • Works as part of a project team to plan, install and upgrade corporate applications along with testing of new releases of software and patches in a test environment before implementing in production.

Corporate Business Solutions Planning and Development (25%)

  • Establishes business solutions roadmaps to suit the overall strategy of Information Services (IS) and corporate needs.
  • Develops custom reports from Microsoft SQL Server Databases (PowerBI, Report Builder, Crystal Reports) for all corporate applications including, including the Enterprise Resource Planning software (ERP).
  • Sets application, and data standards, non-functional requirements and evaluates proposals to assist in the selection of new software projects. Develops solutions that address problems and challenges faced with the use of Corporate and department level applications using Information Technology (IT) tools such as Visual Studio, SQL Server, PowerShell, Azure AD B2C and the Microsoft Power Platform including PowerAutomate, PowerApps, and PowerBI.

Integration of Corporate Business Systems Support (20%)

  • Manages and monitors all system integrations and works with vendors to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Creates scripts and programs to convert, extract, and integrate Microsoft SQL server database data from multiple servers in a complex network environment. 
  • Works with the Manager, Information Services, Financial Services staff, and the Business Analyst to identify, define, and document best practices and processes to ensure consistent application of user security roles within multiple systems. 
  • Assists Information Services staff with provisioning and maintaining user application security.

Corporate Database Administration & Support (15%)

  • Completes database administration includes backups, restores, data availability and accessibility using standard Open Database Connectivity (ODBC), and security on Microsoft SQL Server platform. 
  • Ensures database servers work within the network infrastructure.


Other Related Duties (5%)

  • Completes other related duties/special projects as assigned by Manager, Information Services.
  • Adheres to applicable responsibilities and accountabilities as outlined in the Sturgeon County Health and Safety Management System.

KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXPERIENCE

 Required:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience with the following are required (preference given to those with more experience):
    • Microsoft SQL Server 
    • ASP.NET
    • Microsoft Power Platform
    • C#, 
    • Microsoft IIS and Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Post-secondary degree from a recognized institution in computing science or information technology or computer programming.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to set and manage among conflicting priorities while meeting deadlines. 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally verbally and in writing, including being adaptable, receptive, and timely when communicating with others, and possessing tact and discretion. 
  • Ability to exercise and apply sound judgment, solve complex problems, take initiative, and make informed decisions. 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy when completing work. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft PowerPlatform.
